Unleash your creativity and discover the art of flameworked glass beads in this beginner workshop. Learn the process of melting colorful glass rods and shaping them into your own unique wearable beads. No previous experience is required.
Learn the Venetian art of glass bead making. Make unique beads by melting glass rods with an oxygen/propane torch. Learn to shape the glass, create rough “frit encrusted” beads that look ancient and incorporate silver foil or flower decorations to personalize beads.
Minimum Skill Level: All levels welcome. 16-yrs age minimum. Younger attendees will need to be cleared prior to enrollment.
What will we do? Learn how glass moves as a result of gravity. Make bead ends even, pull stringers, add dots, make barrels. Use tweezers and mashers to shape beads. Using silver foil to add dimension and depth.
Date/Time: 1-day workshop offered at different times. Students ofter return as a way to have access to lampworking equipment, tools and materials as they work with Stephanie on projects and develop their advanced techniques. Limited seating.
