Misako Sassa

Misako Sassa, the resident Japanese recipe developer for Chopstick Magazine, a New York City-based Japanese culture magazine, learned to cook at her mother's side in Japan and now specializes in homestyle Japanese cuisine with an emphasis on local and seasonal ingredients. After moving to New York in 1996, she realized that while there was a great appreciation of Asian food in the city, very few people were familiar with the basics of Japanese cooking.
