Teaches at New York City Guitar School

What makes you want to sing? That’s the first thing that Daisy wants to find out, because she knows that it points to something awesome in you. Lessons with her are lively, relaxed, informative, occasionally deep, and frequently hilarious. She is passionate about guiding you to a clear understanding of your voice, always returning to the ways in which you, yourself, hold the keys to singing well.

Born and raised under a rock and roll stage, Daisy was a musician from an early age. In college she became a classical singer, first studying opera at the Manhattan School of Music and then specializing in experimental classical music for her Master’s Degree. She has had an eclectic career in both classical and pop realms. For several years, she was the head backing singer/dancer for the electrofunk duo “Chromeo," and with them she performed on Letterman, Fallon, Conan, at Lollapalooza and Coachella and worldwide venues. She collaborates with many of the great composers and ensembles in today’s avant-garde scene, bringing to life new and exciting music in the US and in Europe. Her performance of Morton Feldman’s epic work “Three Voices” at MoMa in New York City was described by the New York Times as “intrepid” and “passionate."

In addition to instilling solid vocal technique and practice habits in her students, Daisy loves introducing mindfulness and meditation to her lessons, and offers ear training and a call-and-response methodology she learned from her own in-depth study of North Indian Ragas.
