Introduction to Web Design

Hi if you see the name Stefanie Francotti please avoid taking the class. She did not teach us anything about developing a website but mainly focused on little on ux ui development. Also most of our class time was spent on students presenting their homework assignments at the front of class...yawn. I did not learn much about web development at all which is what the class should have been about! If I could give the instructor 5 negative stars I would. 1 star is being way too kind. I had to complain to the head of the department Chris Ferrar to please ask the instructor to do demos on how to use sketch. Her reply was, "I do not like to do demos in front of class. And that we should be looking up how to do things on our own in the Material Design the website." Hello why take the class if we could just look onto a website#! She is young, inexperienced at teaching ( this is her first time teaching a class and clearly does not have a foot hold on how to develop a website but works as a ux ui design not a web developer!) and incredibly immature and snarky to students who are not favorites who actually ask for demos and help. She is probably ok at her job but preferred to keep alot of information in her head rather than sharing it with the class or people who are not favorites. Upon deciding not to teach the class for personal reasons she decided to give the class a 5 week project further alleviating the necessity for her to lecture or teach us anything new. It is almost as if she decided to coast for the next 5 weeks instead of teaching and just move from small group to group (focusing mainly on her favorite students and not the other people in class who were not her favorites). Also an instructor should treat everyone fairly in the class and spend more time helping those that are confused or not doing well. I actively saw her tell several students that she was not available for additional office hours because she was going on vacation for the holiday and did not like office hours in general, that they had to ask questions in class and or just email her. There was alot of favoritism going on in class and she spent more time with people who were doing well rather than helping those that were struggling in class. Avoid this class and save your money. I heard that the next instructor teaching this class is a friend of hers. Do not take this class!
