What you'll learn in this final cut pro training:

This two-day, hands-on course teaches hard-to-find advanced editing and finishing techniques. Learn how to create fantastic effects using filters creatively, color correct like a pro, work with advance multi-cam techniques and create complex audio mixes. This course also covers advanced workflows for managing media, including using Compressor.

Who Should Attend

This class is designed for those who already have a working knowledge of ANY video editing platform and who want to increase their skills on FCPX by learning advanced features and efficient workflows.

Prerequisites

Students should have the following prerequisite knowledge prior to attending the course:
  • Knowledge of Mac OS X and basic computer navigation is required.
  • Thorough knowledge of editing terminology is highly recommended.
  • FCP 101 - An Introduction to Final Cut Pro X is suggested but not required

Lesson 8: Primary Color Correction

Understanding Color Correction, Using an Appropriate Display, Using the Highest Quality Media, Learning and Exploring the Color Correction Interface, Using Video Scopes, and Adjusting Contrast Using the Color Board Using the Color Controls, Manually Eliminating Color Casts, Using the Global Color Control, Adjusting Saturation, Changing Saturation with Contrast Adjustments, and Dissolving Between Two Grades

Lesson 11: Advanced Sharing and Sending to Compressor

Creating a Bundle in FCPX, Sending to Compressor, Exporting Projects and Media for Finishing. XML Round Trips, Exporting Media Using Roles, Sending to Compressor, Understanding the Compressor User Interface, The Compressor Workflow: Batches, Jobs, and Settings, Creating a batch, Adding Jobs, Applying Settings, Destinations, and Actions, Using Automatic Settings, vs. Auto Detect Settings, Creating Custom Settings: Encoder, Frame, Filters, Geometry, Actions, Creating and Using Droplets,

Remote Learning

This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.

Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.

Refund Policy

Cancellation Policy:

  • If notice is given 16 or more business days before the start of a class, the student may receive a full refund less a $100 administrative fee.
  • If notice is given less than 16 business days no rescheduling or refunds are permitted.
  • Clients who commence a master class may not cancel and are responsible for the entire Master Class fee.
  • Any exam cancellations will be accessed a $50 administrative fee.

All cancellations and registration changes must be received in writing. Please e-mail to [email protected]. Attendee substitutions may be made for any student without penalty or additional cost at any time until the class begins.


Rescheduling Policy:

  • If notice is given 16 or more business days before the start of the class a student may reschedule.
  • A student can reschedule a class up to two (2) times. Additional reschedules will not be allowed.


No Shows:

If a student does not attend a scheduled session, there will be no refund or rescheduling permitted. Payment is forfeited. The school reserves the right to cancel classes with insufficient enrollment or in other circumstances. We will endeavor to give as much advance notice as possible of any change to the schedule. We shall not be responsible for any incidental or consequential loss arising whatsoever.


In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
