Mash up your photos into fun and meaningful digital collages. There are so many ways to manipulate your photos with free, accessible, intuitive software you will want to give this a try with your family. We will explore tools and layers, adding color and texture and bringing your family photos to life. Students may sign up for the whole series or just pop in for certain lessons.
Class 1: Drop in session one will feature Fantastical Sculptures. Ever imagine stacking your furniture into a sculpture in the front yard? Or envisioned create a thumb tack the size of your house? Or maybe riding down your fork like a slide in a fun park.
Class 2: Drop-in season two will feature Fancy Face Portraits. Imagine you and your family faces as colorful cubist paintings. Or maybe fancy a bouquet of coming out of your smiling head of hair. These are the explorations we will explore in this session.
Class 3: Drop-in session three will feature a Storyline Mashup. I like to tell the story of our neighborhood squirrel who took on a local crow. The visual image I put together of them tells the story. Bring your storyline and some photos to mashup that will make your story even more fun to tell.
Class 4: Drop-in session four will feature Home Mural Visioning. Imagine a public space where you’d like to put a mural, on the front of your house or the side of a bridge and then envision your mural created from your own photo images.
SOFTWARE: We will be using Sketchbook, a free software application from Autodesk (sketchbook.com). It is available as an App for phones and tablets (Apple and Android systems) and also as software for computers with Mac or Windows platforms.
