Class Description

Description

Develop the essential knowledge and skills to enhance your appreciation of wine and become a more confident consumer and enthusiast. You'll taste excellent wine examples guided by an experienced instructor who brings both expertise and engaging storytelling to the experience. History, entertaining anecdotes, and good humor are woven throughout the class, creating an enjoyable learning environment. Wine has been produced and enjoyed by civilizations for thousands of years; if it's been part of human culture for so long, why does it remain so intimidating to many people? This class demystifies wine through engaging, straightforward, and factual instruction.

Whether you're beginning your wine journey or looking to deepen existing knowledge, Wine Camp is designed for you. The course welcomes everyone, regardless of prior experience level.

Your experience includes a light cheese plate paired with your wine tasting, allowing you to explore how food and wine complement each other.

What You'll Gain:

  • Enhanced Tasting Skills: Learn the winemaking process from grape to glass, then develop your ability to accurately identify and describe the aromas and flavors in wine. Understanding these characteristics helps you appreciate subtle differences and make better selections.
  • Food and Wine Knowledge: Explore how different wines pair with various foods, deepening your appreciation for both. You'll also learn how to share this knowledge with friends and family, becoming the wine expert at your gatherings.
  • Practical Expertise: Discover professional techniques for wine service, proper storage methods to preserve quality, and strategies for making confident wine purchases. These practical skills help you get the most value and enjoyment from your wine selections.

Six Wines Included in Your Tasting:

Your wine list is carefully selected to explore character dimensions, including origin, producer, type, vintage, and regional style.

  • Wine Camp: An Introduction to Wine

A fun and convivial intro lesson in wine. I would have liked a little more structure, but enjoyed the class and learned a lot more about wine, the wine business, and general things to consider when choosing a wine.

  • Wine Camp: An Introduction to Wine

The class was intimate and the instructor was knowledgeable. It was a good introduction to wine. I wish there was more detail in the instructor’s descriptions of how to taste wine, and what we should be experiencing. I wished for a little more formality, the experience was a bit too casual and thus felt less organized.

I truly enjoyed Wine Camp - An Introduction to Wine. I did not know much about the wines of France before the class but learned a tremendous amount and can now go into a Wine Store and make great choices of wine. I discovered my new favorite white wine in the class. Wish I lived in California so I could join the dinner and wine pairing events.

I was not able to connect due to the internet. I requested the video and the link did not work. Just too difficult to try to do these classes on the west coast when you live in the southeast. Not very user-friendly.

The class was great. And Ian not only knows a lot about win, but he is also a great story teller.
  • Wine Camp: An Introduction to Wine

We weren't allowed in the room until exactly 3:30 pm, course was suppose to be 2 hours long or longer. We were dismissed from class at 5:05 pm. 25 minutes before 2 hours were up. I thought we would learn more about pairing wine with food.
  • Wine Camp: An Introduction to Wine

doors opened promptly at 3:30 but class was over just after 5:00. They even sent out email the night before saying class usually runs longer than the 2 hours. Feel like we were cheated out of something. In the hour and half we were there, I hoped to have learn a little more about wine than about Ian's trip to France Would not recommend this class.
