A Taste of Italy for 2 Guests (BYOB)
I had an amazing time at A Taste of Italy (BYOB)! The staff was warm, welcoming, and made the whole experience so much fun. The class itself was really well run, and I’d definitely recommend it for a night out with friends or a date. In terms of the food, it leaned more toward Americanized Italian cooking than traditional Italian, so if you’re looking for truly authentic regional dishes, just set your expectations accordingly. That said, everything we made was delicious, approachable, and easy to replicate at home. Overall, a great experience — fun, interactive, and the team behind it really made it special. -
Hands-On Pasta and Gnocchi Workshop
I went to the pasta-making class at The Chopping Block in Lincoln Square on Tuesday, September 2nd, and it was honestly one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. This class was a birthday gift for me (probably the best gift I’ve ever gotten), and it made for not only a super fun birthday outing but also a great date night with my partner. This was my first cooking class ever, and as someone who already loves cooking at home, I was blown away by how fun and hands-on it was. Chef Alexi was fantastic—she explained everything clearly, from rolling and cutting fettuccine to filling ravioli, and even the details of cooking the pasta just right. She was patient, thorough, and always ready to answer questions. Plus, there were other chefs walking around to offer help whenever anyone needed it, which made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. We cooked a lot of food—and even had enough to take home afterward, which was such a treat. Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend my birthday. I left with full hands (and a full stomach), new cooking skills, and some really great memories. If you’re looking for something fun, interactive, and delicious, I can’t recommend The Chopping Block enough. -

Pizza Party: Chicago Style
If I could give the NAPCA six stars, I would. My wife and I attended the Chicago Pizza class just tonight, and it was well worth the price. Chef Leo Spizzirri taught the class, and he was super engaging and interesting to listen to. You could tell he had a LOT of experience making dough, sauce, and of course pizza. He was patient and had thorough answers to everyone's questions. The facilities themselves were beautiful and state-of-the-art. The front, where the class was held, was inviting and made you feel at home. There were also areas for professional training and for cooking the pizzas in the large ovens you would expect a place like this to have. While making the pizzas was lots of fun, it was even more fun to sit at the counter and enjoy them while taking to Chef Leo and his business partner, Chef Anthony. I learned that they also offer technical classes, like knife skills, and even had a camp for kids during the summer. I would definitely go back for another class and hope to see others in the Western Suburbs take advantage of such a cool, local experience. -
Hands-On Pizza on the Grill

The Italian Table: Make Your Own Pasta
Great instructor and wonderful experience -
Pizza Alla Pala Workshop, Hands-On
I got the class for my father as a holiday gift and we loved it. The dough was already made (it takes at least four hours to make/rise), so we pressed the pre-made dough, added our own toppings, and waited for it to cook (about 15 minutes.) While we waited we had ample wine and a small arugula salad. The class was really short though. It would have been nice if it was a little quieter and each of the guests could have asked the instructor more questions. -
Hands-On Pasta Workshop
We really enjoyed the pasta workshop and certainly learned so much - I even bought a pasta machine ! I hope to take more pasta classes in the future so count on seeing us again. Thank you for a very enjoyable afternoon ! -
Neapolitan Pizzeria: New Menu
Great for beginners or for the home cook that wants to take it to the next level. Chef Sam was very helpful and encouraged us to ask questions and kept it very informal yet very informative. Highly recommend taking a group there and having fun while learning. Thanks, Chef. -
The Italian Table: Homemade Pasta
...very useful hints, great recipes and pasta; wonderful, friendly people! - Karen -
Hands-On Pasta Workshop
I took the pasta workshop at The Chopping Block and had a great time. The class was hands-on, from making the pasta from scratch to rolling it out, cooking it and eating it. Chef Joey Hahn was incredibly knowledgeable and taught us about knife skills and cooking techniques. The dishes we made were delicious and there were tons to take home after. -
Vegan Voyage: Italian Trattoria
One of the most fun things I've ever done. The class was orchestrated excellently by our two chefs, Aida (also designed the class) and another pretty woman whose name I cannot remember. I went by myself, but I would highly recommend this as a date night. The last 45 mins of the 3 hour class were spent relaxing, drinking, and eating the food we had made. You get to take home leftovers. Most wine is sold by the bottle with just 2-3 being offered by the glass. -
Hands-On Pasta Workshop
The class was very fun and truly quite amazing. Conquered my fear of pasta and learned that I can have fresh pasta any night of the week. Made in minutes!! The teaching staff were very informative and engaging which really put me at easy. -
Hands-On Pasta Workshop
The instructor Mario is talented and an excellent instructor; he explained theory and other cooking concepts in an easy manner without being authoritative. No question was stupid, and I asked plenty. I would definitely take another class at this school.
