The many layers of silver and blue silks, velvets and linen fabrics give this blossom interest and texture. The shimmery silk velvet center glows like ice. We will use paperback fusible sheets and heat to mold the petals. Use as a corsage or on top of a fabric covered wire stem with tendrils and leaves.
Vintage millinery flowers were once molded with an open flame. During the 3 hour workshop you will use the templates and fabrics provided in the kit to make the blossom with an iron. Additional silks and hand dyed ribbon are provided as well as all of the supplies for the stem. Once you learn this technique you can make blossoms of all sizes by limiting the layers or enlarging the templates provided.
