Teaches at Los Angeles Center of Photography
He is a Los Angeles-based visual artist, graphic designer and academic. His work has been presented at such venerable New York venues as P.S. 122, Franklin Furnace, Artists Space and Thread Waxing Space. Other exhibition venues include the Delaware Center for Contemporary Art, the Art Gallery of Ontario, Cleveland Performance Art Festival, and the Lancaster Museum of Art. His work is part of the permanent collection of the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis. Additionally, Mr. Hiuni’s work has appeared in The New York Times, The Huffington Post, and The Dramatist.
As graphic designer, Mr. Hiuni has had many high-profile clients, including Pearson Publishing, Clairol, Independent Productions Fund, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Present Theater Company, New York International Fringe Festival and New York Department of Cultural Affairs.
As professor/lecturer, Mr. Hiuni has taught at Pratt Institute, School of Visual Arts, FIT, Hofstra, Bucknell, SUNY, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Museum of Modern Art, and the Provincetown Art Association & Museum. He holds an MFA in studio art and an interdisciplinary PhD in Art History/Art Education, both from Penn State. He is adjunct professor of art at Woodbury University and Distinguished Instructor at UCLA Extension.
