What you'll learn in this soap making class:
Soapmaking is an artisan craft that has been in existence for centuries. Learn about the beauty, art and chemistry of soapmaking using both the cold process and hot process methods.
During class you can expect to:
- Discover the history of soapmaking
- Understand the safety practices required to manufacture soap
- Know what necessary equipment is needed to make soap
- Know what components make up soap
- Understand the industry terminology and lingo
- How to label your soap for market
- Troubleshoot common soapmaking problems
- Hands on step by step instruction on making a basic batch of cold processed and hot process soap with sodium hydroxide.
- Explore how to using herbs and fragrances to customize soaps
- Access to my exclusive resource list of preferred ingredient suppliers with website links
- Get addicted to a clean hobby/business
Special Note:
- Participants will take home approximately 2 pounds of soap equivalent to 8 bars of handcrafted soaps ($64 retail value).
- Please dress comfortably.
Participants need to bring:
- goggles (to protect eyes)
- apron
- spatula
- rubber gloves (to protect hands)
- painter’s mask
- sturdy bags (with a flat bottom) to transport soaps
Refund Policy
- No Refund:
- All payments are non-refundable. If you find that you will not be able to attend a class please refer your options below.
- Rescheduling/Full Credit:
- Please contact [email protected] to reschedule a class for any reason to another class being offered.
- You can reschedule a class as long 8 business days advance notice is given.
- Partial Credit:
- If you need to cancel a class and it is less than 8 business days before the registered class but more than 3 business days before the scheduled class a 50% credit can be applied to registering to another class being offered.
- No Show:
- If you do not show up for a class for any reason your class registration is NON-REFUNDABLE, NON-Transferable and NO CREDIT will be given toward any future class.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
