Course Structure:

• Week 1: Underpainting and Texture Development
• Week 2: Color Layering, Part One
• Week 3: Color Layering, Part Two
• Week 4: Glazing, Broken Color Techniques, and Final Finishing

Oil Paints:

• White (lead white, flake white substitute, or alkyd white; if using titanium, must pair with Galkyd medium)
• Cadmium Yellow or Lead Tin Yellow
• Cadmium Red or Vermillion
• Yellow Ochre
• Burnt Sienna
• Burnt Umber
• Raw Umber (optional)
• Ivory Black
• Alizarin Crimson
• Transparent Red Iron Oxide
• Ultramarine Blue
• Indian Yellow (optional)

Brushes:

• Mid-size to large stiff-bristle brushes in hog or synthetic hair, filbert or round shapes, and mid-size to small soft-bristle brushes such as taklon, synthetic, or sable in filbert or round shapes

Painting Surface:

• Primed panel or smooth linen canvas measuring 16x20 or 18x24 inches
