What you'll learn in this sausage class:

Do you hunt and find yourself with extra meat to be used? Are you sick of buying mystery sausage from the grocery store? Do you have general disposition for meat in tube form? If you answered yes to any or all of these questions, this class is made for you!

Hang out with Fred as he teaches you everything you need to know to make great sausage at home. After a brief demonstration of the sausage making process from start to finish, you and your classmates will roll up your sleeves and get meaty as you make your very own batch of sausage. We'll teach you how to choose ingredients, mix in the seasoning, stuff your blend and link the finished product. At the end, you get to take home your very own handmade sausage links! 

We'll also cover different techniques and styles of sausage as well as the ideal cooking methods. You'll leave feeling like the Best Wurst-Maker in the World!

Please wear a sweater; classes take place in our cutting room which is at about 60 degrees.

Are these naturally fermented sausages? Is more than one type taught? Are they aged or cured or fresh? Pork, mixed or no pork?

When I took this class, the primary focus was on freshly ground pork sausages in the Bratwurst style. It was a great experience and we took home many pounds of prepared sausages (which were delicious).

Great class. I make my own sausage but am always looking for ways to improve. This course was very informative. Would definitely recommend this to anyone interested in creating home made sausage.

The class was fantastic! Interactive and hands on. The instructors were friendly and gave us a tour of the butcher shop at the end. We got to keep he sausages we made and they had a charcuterie board with drinks. The whole class was spot on and well organized. I had a smile from ear to ear. I was enlightened and impressed at the sausages created

Short and sweet. Hands on but I would rather choose the spices. The sausage was a little salty for my taste. Live and learn. If you don't try how will you know. Thank people at Dickson farms take pride in their work and it shows.
