What you'll learn in this dessert class:

French Tarts & Madeleines are an elegant way to enjoy Gouter, the traditional French afternoon "snack". Join our chef to learn to prepare tarts, filled with light custard cream and Lemon & Chocolate or Fresh Fruit.

Students will also practicing preparing French Madeleines, a perfect accompaniment to any cup of tea or coffee.

Each student will taste their own French Tarts & Madeleines, also will go home with their own French tarts and Madeleines, as well as recipes and detailed instructions to prepare for family and friends!

Please Note:

  • All classes/events are subject to cancellation if the minimum number of participants is not reached.
  • This is a 2 and 1/2 hour hands-on class.
  • Students work in groups of 4 (maximum).
  • BYOB: All events are "Bring Your Own Bottle”.
  • Kitchen will be open 10 minutes before listed class time. Class will start promptly at listed time.
  • IMPORTANT: In order to ensure a great experience for all, participants who arrive more than 15 minutes after the scheduled class time will not be permitted to join the class and will forfeit the class. No refunds or rescheduling will be permitted.

Refund Policy

  • In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount. for refund requests made no later than 6 business days before the start of classes/events.
  • No refunds/reschedule will be issued otherwise, unless the class/tasting has been canceled by Atelier Sucré, wherein 100% of the class and fee will be refunded.

    Overall this class was great- I learned a lot and we made some delicious treats. It did seem like chef Jen was in her own and probably should have had an assistant helping her set up and run the day- we were not allowed in to the space before class actually started, which was a problem given that it was below freezing outside. Though the room was small there were plenty of places we could have sat while setup was still happening. We were let in late, because we knocked on the door and begged to be let inside. The class also went over time by about half an hour. It seemed well run up until that point, so I suspect it was really a matter of needing 2 pairs of hands to manage a full class.

    Not a good idea to have two different recipes in one class. Perhaps better to focus on one such as tarts alone. Madeleine recipe not what I expected. They came out like poundcake as opposed to a dense buttery cookie.
