What you'll learn in this drawing class:
NOTE: This is an Online Art Class. Our instructors will work with you over high-quality live video and teach you to make art from the comfort of your home. We will move back to in-person art classes in our art studio when the uncertainties around Coronavirus are resolved.
Nurture your inner-artist and feel inspired as you deepen your practice of drawing. Enjoy engaging, encouraging art instruction in this intermediate level online drawing class with NYC’s #1-rated art studio, The Art Studio NY. If you have taken our Beginner Fear-Free Drawing Class or have previous basic drawing experience, this class is perfect for you! Continue to learn and practice the most important drawing techniques and express yourself through drawing your own unique works of art.
In this Advanced drawing class online, you will explore, learn, and enjoy:
- Receive one-on-one expert art instruction customized to your skill level
- Learn our fear-free art approach as you learn to draw in our intimidation-free, non-judgmental virtual art studio
- Feel inspired by a variety of subject matter as your muse, including: still life, realism, abstraction, the human figure, portraiture, and more
- Unleash your inner-artist as you learn a variety of intermediate drawing class techniques, such as: charcoal and pencil use, shading, expressive line, mark-making, composition, contour drawing, dimension, and more!
- Succeed in creating many finished drawings
- Receive the lasting health benefits of drawing and art classes, such as relaxation, stress relief, and mental clarity

You will need the following materials:
- Drawing Paper (any size )
- Pencil Set (Variety of 4-12 pencils in HB ranges)
- Vinyl Eraser
- Kneaded Eraser
- Vine Charcoal
- Blending Stump
- Note: We Recommmend Blick Art Materials, but you can use any brand you like.
Remote Learning
This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.
Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.
Refund Policy
Class tuition is neither non-refundable nor transferable. No refunds will be issued after registration and payment. In case of a Medically Certified illness, a credit will be issued after receipt of your physician’s documentation. The value of the credit will be for the balance of the remaining class sessions with an additional deduction of a $95 registration fee. Credit may be used up to 12 months.
If after your first class you are dissatisfied with the quality of your course, a written note must be submitted within 1 business day after your first class. After receiving your note, refund of class tuition will be reviewed by our staff. If a refund is granted, processing of refunds requires 8-10 weeks. A 5% nonrefundable processing fee will be applied.
Course Cancellations
Although course cancellation is quite rare, The school reserves the right to cancel classes or change instructor assignments and makes every effort to notify students in advance. If enrollment goals are not met, a course may be canceled up to 1 business day before the first scheduled class. In the event of cancellation, a refund or credit is granted. On occasion, a course start-date will be pushed back if enrollment goals are not met. In this instance, you will receive a credit for the price of the class that did not take place.
Please note that there will be NO exceptions to this under any circumstances.
Make-up Policy
Unfortunately, The school does not offer any makeups for classes missed. However, if the student wants to get the most from the course and the absence, they can tell the instructor when they will be absent and the instructor can provide some guidance on exercises to practice while away.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.

My instructor Sophia was amazing. It was so great I signed up for the Fear Free Drawing class. I enjoyed coming and learning in this studio. I can't wait to start again in September.
