User experience design is often mistaken for interface design, but the visual layer is only part of it. A good experience also accounts for how someone feels while using a product, what they were trying to accomplish, and what happens when things go wrong. This course lays out what UX design covers, how it differs from UI, and how UX designers collaborate with researchers, product managers, engineers, and visual designers.
You then walk the process end to end. That means research methods including user interviews, observation, and heuristic evaluation; synthesis into personas, journey maps, and scenarios; information architecture and user flows; sketching and wireframing through iterative refinement; and usability testing to check whether the design actually works. Industry examples and hands-on activities keep the concepts concrete, and you also cover how to document and present your reasoning, which is a large part of the job.
